Continued large net inflows into fixed income funds in June

[2012-07-10] In June, net sales of investment funds ended close to zero. Net deposits were made in fixed income funds, while equity funds recorded net outflows. The total fund assets at the end of the month amounted to SEK 1 895 billion.

Investment funds recorded a total net outflow of SEK 0.3 billion in June. Equity funds had a net outflow of SEK 10.6 billion, whereas fixed income funds recorded net deposits. Money market funds had net inflows of 5.6 billion and bond funds recorded a net inflow of 4.8 billion. Also balanced funds had a net inflow of 0.4 billion. Hedge funds and other funds recorded net outflows of SEK 0.3 and 0.1 respectively.

So far in 2012, total net sales of funds amounts to SEK 11.8 billion. Bond funds have recorded the largest net inflow, but also equity funds and balanced funds have had net deposits during the first half of 2012.

Continued concern affected the stock markets also in June. The value of the Stockholm Stock Exchange, including dividends, however, increased by 3 percent during the month due to a strong recovery during the last days of June.

 Equity funds recorded a total net outflow of 10.6 billion in June and withdrawals were made from all equity fund categories. The largest net outflows came from Sweden funds and North America Funds.

At the end of June, the total fund assets amounted to SEK 1 895 billion, of which 988 billion (equivalent to 52 percent) was invested in equity funds.
